Kristin Wright

High School Spanish

Kristin Wright grew up in Ririe, Idaho where she spent a lot of time outdoors and in the mountains with her family. She also loved being involved in sports and music. After graduating high school, she attended BYU-Idaho and knew she wanted to be a teacher. She didn’t know what subject she wanted to teach until after she spent nearly a year and a half in Bolivia where she learned the Spanish language and loved everything about it including the culture. After returning to the states, she pursued her degree in Spanish Education. She has had the opportunity to teach Spanish at BYU-Idaho as an adjunct faculty member for the past 16 years.

When Mrs. Wright is not teaching, she loves spending time with her husband and 4 kids. They especially love doing activities outdoors. During the winter you will find her skiing or snowboarding, and during the summer, you will find her swimming, boating, or biking. On the weekends throughout the entire year, you will find her playing the French horn in a community orchestra along with her husband who plays the tuba.

Mrs. Wright is excited to join the Alturas team and help her students learn and excel in Spanish. She wants to help her students see the value in learning a foreign language to expand their view of the world and the opportunities they will have by learning to speak a second language. Mrs. Wright is eager to share her passion for the Spanish language and lead her students in learning and helping them discover and better understand themselves and the world around them.
