Shannon Claver

Visual Arts

Shannon Claver was born and raised in Idaho Falls. She married her high school sweetheart and moved with him to North Carolina when he joined the United States Air Force. They lived there for six whirlwind years and had two beautiful girls. They chose to move back to Idaho to raise their family and to pursue their careers.

Mrs. Claver has always been interested in the versatility of fine art. Throughout junior high and high school she spent her summers working in the summer arts program at the Idaho Falls Arts Council. One of her favorite events was assisting with the first Roaring Youth Jam. This experience, along with years of volunteering in classrooms, working as a classroom aide, a P.E. para-professional and a Title 1 aide, confirmed her interest in pursuing a career in the arts and education.

Mrs. Claver loves to paint nature scenes with watercolor on her beautifully unique handmade paper. She has many other hobbies, including camping, hiking and exploring the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. She enjoys spending time in her wonderful home that sits on one acre. It is always bustling with activity, with her two girls, four dogs, four cats, three goats, one turtle, six chickens, and more!

Mrs. Claver has happily dedicated the past 3 years to the arts program at Alturas International Academy. Moving forward, she is so excited to explore the world of art with her students at Alturas Preparatory Academy!
